Job summary

Seattle Children's Hospital is seeking a data scientist for an onsite, limited-term role in Seattle, WA. You will support biostatistics and analytics for BEAR, designing studies and performing analyses for biomedical research, and producing publication-ready results.

The role emphasizes collaboration with clinicians, developers, and analysts to expand data science products and drive quality improvement across healthcare projects. It is a 12-month term with a mandatory on-site schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM or analytical field demonstrating analytical and technical competency.
• 2+ years as a Data Analyst or related role with data science tools and methods; or a Master's in a STEM field with applied research experience.
• Experience with statistics as well as machine learning and data mining.
• Experience developing and using statistical models and algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to study design, develop and execute statistical analysis plans, and perform data analyses for biomedical research projects.
• Prepare data summaries, publication-ready tables and visualizations, and draft statistical methods sections for manuscripts and grants.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to scale data science results and products.
• Develop algorithms and models addressing health care needs alongside clinicians.
• Provide analytics input to support business and clinical operations and quality improvement.
• Explore large repositories to identify modeling inputs from structured, unstructured, and streaming data.
• Create tools and libraries to support enterprise-wide data science use.
• Support integrated data science products for diverse customer groups.
