Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Biomedical Clinical Engineer to ensure safe and effective use of medical equipment across the hospital. You will implement medical technology to optimize patient care, participate in safety and quality initiatives, and train Biomedical Equipment Technicians.

The role requires collaboration with physicians, IT, and administrators, ensuring regulatory compliance and contributing to device management strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or related field.
• One year of experience in a healthcare-related environment.
• CCE - Certified Clinical Engineer or CHTM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Biomedical Engineering department point of contact for large-scale projects and system-wide equipment rollouts.
• Provide in-service training for clinicians and staff on safe operation of medical equipment and emerging technologies.
• Lead investigations and participate in incident investigations related to medical equipment and recalls.
