Job summary

Sprague Energy is hiring a Steam Plant/Boiler Equipment Operator for the Fitchburg, MA location. The role involves operating and maintaining a wood-fired biomass boiler and auxiliary equipment, with responsibilities across logs, safety, and plant reliability.

You will work with the shift team at our Westminster, MA site, with overtime and night shifts possible. A valid MA Fireman's license or willingness to obtain it is required within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Massachusetts 2nd Class Fireman's License or willing to obtain license within 6 months of start date.
• Possess a valid state-issued driver's license.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the steam boiler and auxiliary equipment.
• Assist shift supervisor and report equipment problems.
• Maintain operating logs and inform management of repairs or abnormal conditions.
• Operate wood yard equipment and related computer systems as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping of the plant areas.
