Job summary

Sprague Resources GP LLC is seeking a Boiler Operator/Equipment Operator for the Fitchburg, MA biomass facility. The operator will monitor and maintain the steam boiler and related systems, support shift operations, and ensure logs and safety procedures are followed.

This position requires a high school diploma, MA 2nd Class Fireman’s License (or willingness to obtain within 6 months), and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Massachusetts 2nd Class Fireman's License or willingness to obtain within 6 months of start date.
• Possess a valid state-issued driver's license.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate the steam boiler and auxiliary steam equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, generators).
• Report equipment problems to the unit supervisor.
• Maintain current plant operating logs and inform management of needed repairs or out-of-norm conditions.
• Operate auxiliary equipment; start/stop equipment; open/close valves; test/treat boiler and cooling tower water as directed.
• Perform maintenance tasks as directed.
• Operate wood yard equipment and computer system as needed.
• Clean designated work areas and comply with NE Renewable Power policies.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
