Job summary

NAES Corporation is seeking a Control Room Operator for the Franklin Biomass Facility in Carnesville, GA. The CRO will monitor and control biomass plant systems, respond to alarms, and coordinate with Operations and Maintenance to ensure safe, reliable power generation.

Responsibilities include start-up/shutdown, using DCS/PLCs, logging data, and managing emissions controls (SCR and hot precipitator) while maintaining strict safety practices and training compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Demonstrated biomass/power plant operations experience preferred.
• Familiarity with biomass-fired boilers, steam turbines, and generators is a plus.
• Experience with DCS/PLCs, HMIs, and safety procedures is essential.
• Knowledge of emissions controls (SCR, hot precipitator) and CEMS is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Start-up, operation, and shutdown of plant equipment per procedures.
• Use DCS/PLCs to monitor boiler, turbine, and biomass systems.
• Respond to alarms and upsets with corrective action.
• Record key operating parameters and emissions data.
• Oversee emissions control equipment (SCR and hot precipitator) for compliance.
