Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory invites motivated undergraduates and graduates to join the Biomass Computational Science Intern program for Summer 2027. You will help build computational tools and models for biomass preprocessing, collaborate with scientists, and explore data processing, ML, and simulation workflows.

On-site at Idaho Falls, the internship emphasizes hands-on learning, reliability, throughput, and energy efficiency through practical engineering challenges aligned with INL's mission.

Qualifications

• Enrolled full time in an undergraduate or graduate program in a relevant field.
• Experience with Python or similar for computational tools.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher and authorization to work in the U.S.
• Ability to work on-site in Idaho Falls on a 9x80 schedule.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, document, and maintain computational research tools.
• Process data and build visualizations to support findings.
• Collaborate with INL scientists to apply ML and simulations to biomass research.
