Job summary

UC Santa Cruz is seeking a Biology Teaching Laboratories Supervisor to oversee instructional laboratory spaces for MCD, EEB and METX courses. The role reports to the BTL Manager and supports lab courses, staff, students and instructors with technical expertise and safety compliance.

The position is full-time, 100% effort, with 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, day shifts. Salary ranges from $85,000 to $95,000 annually with full benefits and state-allowable terms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related area is required.
• Experience supervising teaching labs or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of biological laboratory practices and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise BTL staff and teaching labs.
• Develop and modify laboratory protocols in collaboration with faculty.
• Manage equipment, supplies, and safety compliance for instructional labs.
• Provide administrative support and ensure proper documentation and records.
