Job summary

UNC Charlotte is hiring a Lab Operations Coordinator who will manage undergraduate biology teaching labs by ordering and preparing materials, maintaining cultures, and supervising student and graduate lab assistants.

The role includes ensuring safety and equipment maintenance (including autoclaves), supporting curriculum development, coordinating deliveries in Klein Hall, and maintaining inventory of media and stock solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with two years general research experience or equivalent combination.
• Preferred experience includes teaching, managing biology or science lab courses.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage undergraduate biology teaching labs, including material preparation and culture maintenance.
• Oversee safety protocols, EHS compliance, and autoclave system maintenance.
• Set up lab equipment and troubleshoot lab procedures and protocols.
• Supervise student workers and graduate teaching assistants; coordinate teaching assistants and curriculum development.
• Maintain inventory and prepare stock solutions for the biology prep room.
• Receive and deliver daily lab and office deliveries within Klein Hall.
