Qualifications

• This position requires four years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering, BiomedicalEngineering, Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, or another closely related field appropriate to the position.
• Relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates day-to-day operations of assigned laboratories and provides technical leadership to Laboratory Assistants, Technicians, and student employees.
• Collaborates with faculty to design and develop lab instruction and teaching materials; assists in classroom settings.
• Prepares and maintains laboratory facilities for teaching instruction; guides learning and operation of procedures.
• Conducts audits of safety protocols and emergency response plans; ensures safe storage of chemicals and proper equipment operation.
• Maintains and inspects equipment to ensure calibration and condition; monitors supplies for laboratory courses.
• Assists in budget development, purchasing options, and invoice reconciliation; contributes to annual operating budget.
• Develops laboratory standard operating procedures and supports continuous improvement plans.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
