Job summary

High Point University invites applications for a Laboratory Assistant in the Biology Department to support teaching labs in the Wanek School of Natural Sciences. You will assist lab managers and faculty by preparing exercises and maintaining safe, organized lab spaces.

Applicants should be biology majors (or related disciplines) with BIO 1500/1501 in progress or completed; a minimum 2.5 GPA and strong teamwork are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be Biology major (related disciplines also considered) and have taken or are enrolled in BIO 1500/1501.
• Competitive applicants should demonstrate a strong work ethic, interest in experiential learning, and passion for biological sciences.

Responsibilities

• Complete a mandatory orientation / safety training session with supervisor.
• Set-up and break-down laboratory exercises in teaching labs, as directed
• Ensure teaching labs are clean, orderly, and stocked with supplies
• Other miscellaneous laboratory duties as assigned by faculty and lab manager
