Job summary

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory safety and demonstrated experience working with chemicals are required.
  • This position is open to graduate students pursuing a master's degree in biology or a closely related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the instruction and supervision of laboratory classes.
  • Grading laboratory assignments, homework, exams, papers, and reports.
  • Supervising students in the laboratory learning environment and ensuring the proper use of PPE.
  • Assisting with virtual laboratories and utilizing the D2L Brightspace LMS, as needed.
  • Assisting faculty with grading lecture course assignments and exams.
  • Proctoring exams and make-up exams.
  • Preparing chemicals for instructional laboratories.
  • Assisting with stockroom operations, including distributing laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Holding weekly office hours to provide academic support to students.
