Job summary

Great Hearts Arlington Upper School is seeking a dedicated High School Biology Teacher to join our life-long learning community in Arlington, TX. The role focuses on rigorous science education with laboratory and field experiences, aligned with the Great Hearts curriculum and values of truth, goodness, and beauty.

Responsibilities include delivering engaging lessons, supporting students, partnering with leadership, and maintaining an orderly, respectful classroom.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher degree required for lead teaching role.
  • US work authorization required.
  • Criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance required.
  • Certification not required for general education.
  • All majors welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and a joyful classroom environment.
  • Provide academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership on needs in a timely manner.
  • Uphold the culture, policies, dress code, conduct, and safety procedures to maintain a respectful school environment.
  • Communicate clearly with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering home-school partnerships.
  • Participate in life of the academy through collaboration, events, assigned duties, and ongoing professional growth.
