RFCUNY's STEP program in New York seeks a part-time biology instructor to deliver engaging lessons to high school students, mentor learners, and support program activities. The successful candidate will bring a strong biology background, empathy, and solid communication skills.

The ideal applicant has at least two years of teaching or mentoring youth, is capable of planning hands-on curricula, coordinating field trips, and collaborating with staff and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience with middle/high school students in educational settings.
• Strong knowledge of STEM disciplines, particularly biology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to work independently and with others, and to supervise field trips.

Responsabilités

• Plan and deliver biology lessons to high school students.
• Mentor students and support their educational and personal development.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with coordinators, staff, instructors, and community partners.
• Chaperone and transport students to field trips and conferences.
• Develop and implement STEM curricula with a focus on biology.
