Anthropic Limited is hiring an entry‑level Research Associate to join our Life Sciences team in San Francisco. You’ll work alongside senior scientists, performing bench experiments and learning advanced techniques in a fast‑moving, collaborative setting.

The role emphasizes curiosity, hands‑on execution, and ownership of results. Familiarity with computational biology is welcome, but the role does not involve AI/ML model development.

Qualifications

• Hands-on research experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field.
• Proficiency with PCR, gel electrophoresis, cloning, and plasmid prep.
• Experience with aseptic technique and mammalian/bacterial culture; nucleic acid extraction.
• Ability to follow and adapt protocols with care and precision.
• Highly motivated and eager to learn with strong bench skills.
• Excellent communication and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Execute molecular biology and biochemistry experiments at the bench under senior guidance.
• Maintain meticulous records and contribute to shared protocols
• Troubleshoot experiments, propose adjustments, and present results in group meetings
• Maintain mammalian and bacterial cell lines, stocks, and reagents
• Learn and adopt new techniques rapidly as projects evolve, with training provided
