Job summary

Anthropic Limited in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Research Scientist in Life Sciences (Computational Chemistry) to advance AI-enabled chemistry research. You will design RL environments, curate datasets, and evaluate ML models that predict reaction outcomes and guide synthesis.

You will work with bench chemists and AI researchers, require a PhD in chemistry or related field, deep knowledge of organic and medicinal chemistry, and strong Python skills to push reproducible, high-quality

Qualifications

• PhD in chemistry, computational chemistry, or a related field.
• Deep knowledge of organic and medicinal chemistry with experimental data as ground truth.
• Strong Python skills and ML fundamentals for training and evaluating models.

Responsibilities

• Design and build reinforcement learning environments for chemistry end to end.
• Design and source new experimental datasets and evaluations with bench chemists and partners.
• Develop evaluations measuring model performance on real chemistry tasks such as reaction outcomes and synthesis planning.
