Job summary

Daytona State College in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a student employee to assist biology and microbiology laboratories. You will prepare and set up laboratory materials, help maintain clean and safe work areas, and support instructors with models, slides, and specimens.

Applicants must be enrolled in at least 6 credits, meet SAP or maintain a 2.0 GPA, and be available Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. up to 20 hours weekly. Prior biology coursework is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits.
• Must currently be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), or a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.

Responsibilities

• Assist with biology and microbiology laboratory preparation and setup.
• Clean glassware, microscopes, and laboratory equipment.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe laboratory work areas.
• Assist with preparing and organizing laboratory materials, models, slides, and specimens.
• Help maintain inventory supplies and proper use of safety and first aid equipment.
• Report any biology or microbiology lab-related issues to the lab manager.
• Keep classrooms and laboratory preparation areas clean and organized.
