Job summary

The University of Kansas in Topeka is seeking a Student Hourly to support biology course delivery. You will assist a biology professor or GTAs, prepare lab materials, equipment, and demonstrations, and support classroom presentations and instructional activities to enhance student learning.

Under the Lab Director, you will independently instruct small lab sections for non-major students, proctor exams, grade lab reports, and provide administrative and logistical support related to course

Qualifications

Declared major in Biology, related science, or Education as indicated in application materials.
Student must be in good academic standing; junior standing preferred.
Preference given to students eligible for Federal Work-Study funding.

Responsibilities

Assist a biology professor or graduate teaching assistant with all aspects of course delivery and instruction.
Prepare and organize laboratory materials, equipment, and supplies for laboratory activities and demonstrations.
Support classroom presentations and instructional activities to enhance student learning.
Proctor examinations and assist with maintaining a secure and productive testing environment.
Grade laboratory reports, quizzes, and other course assignments in accordance with instructor guidelines.
Provide administrative and logistical support related to course operations as needed.
Under the supervision of the Lab Director, independently instruct small laboratory sections for non-major students, facilitating lab activities and reinforcing course concepts.
Serve as a resource for students by answering questions and providing guidance related to laboratory procedures and course content.
