Under the Science Laboratory Manager's supervision, you will manage inventory, assist with safety tasks, document deliveries, and provide technical support to faculty, with hours varying by course and semester preparations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in biology, chemistry, physical sciences, or related discipline.
• At least one year of laboratory experience or relevant academic lab experience.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory safety, equipment, and preparation of solutions and reagents.
• Ability to follow written procedures and work independently.
• Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a diverse environment.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Prepare chemical solutions, reagents, samples, supplies, and equipment for assigned science courses following procedures and safety requirements.
• Prepare weekly laboratory materials for BSCI 150 and BSCI 160, including micropipetting, gels, buffers, and related techniques.
• Support Anatomy and Physiology lab prep, including counting specimens and organizing materials.
• Maintain and monitor laboratory equipment; report issues to the Science Laboratory Manager.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, reagents, specimens, and equipment; identify shortages and request orders.
• Receive, inspect, document, and restock laboratory deliveries and areas as needed.
• Clean and organize lab and preparation areas; disinfect work surfaces and wash glassware.
• Handle biohazardous and chemical waste per College procedures and safety requirements.
• Assist with semester prep, inventory, and safety tasks as needed.
• Provide technical support to faculty and communicate needs to the science staff.
