Job summary

Pensacola State College seeks a Biology Instructor for a 9‑month tenure‑track appointment with an anticipated January 2027 start. The candidate will teach non‑majors and majors biology with emphasis in anatomy & physiology and/or microbiology, including labs, across multiple campuses and through distance learning when needed.

Responsibilities include course planning, delivering content, monitoring progress, participating in committees, curriculum development, and student success initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Biology or closely related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline.
• Background checks are required by law and college policy, including FDLE background checks for all successful candidates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare course plans and materials for non-major and major Biology courses and labs.
• Deliver subject matter content effectively and monitor student attendance and progress.
• Participate in departmental and college committees and curriculum development.
• Support retention efforts and assist in textbook selection and assessment of learning outcomes.
• Engage in service and professional development activities as part of the 9‑month tenure‑track role.
