Job summary

Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, seeks a full-time Biology faculty member in the NSE area to begin January 2027. The role focuses on Microbiology and includes Introductory Biology and Genetics, with multiple delivery modes.

The successful candidate will teach a mix of classroom and laboratory courses, contribute to curriculum development, advising, and assessment, and engage in professional activity. Research with students is supported.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Biological Sciences, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or Genetics.
One year of demonstrated college-level teaching experience.
Experience designing and/or setting up hands-on laboratory activities with attention to safety protocols.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Teach non-majors and majors-level biology courses including Microbiology (BIOL 210).
Teach Introductory Biology (BIOL 101 and/or BIOL 150) and Genetics (BIOL 222).
Design, deliver, assess courses in multiple modalities (face-to-face, online, remote, hybrid).
Advise students on curricula, transfers, and career options.
Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and service activities.
