Job summary

Haley & Aldrich is seeking an Associate, Biologist or Environmental Scientist to join our growing team in a business development and senior technical lead role. The position supports northwest projects from our Seattle or Portland offices, collaborating on diverse environmental tasks and client opportunities.

You will lead technical work, develop scopes and proposals, mentor staff, and present findings to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related field.
• Minimum of 15 years related experience including 5 years of Project Management.
• Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification preferred.
• Experience with local, state and federal permitting, natural resource management, and wetlands in the Pacific Northwest and arid regions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting project information.
• Desire to advance skills to become more visible in the industry.
• Environmental design and contract package development experience.
• Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks pertinent to the work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and identify new client opportunities and develop networks into a book of business.
• Lead business development to support Northwest region natural resources and permitting growth.
• Assist with development and diversification of natural resources and permitting services in the Northwest across markets.
• Lead and assist with execution of project work through team collaboration.
• Develop scopes of work and proposals aligned with client goals and regulatory requirements.
• Apply knowledge of jurisdictional codes, regulations, and practices to project work.
• Coach and mentor staff to ensure high-quality execution of deliverables.
• Give internal and external technical presentations to identify business opportunities.
• Lead evaluation and development of conceptual site models for environmental projects.
• Develop proposals and technical reporting for natural resources and permitting projects.
• Support restoration and mitigation design on aquatic projects.
