Job summary

MSD seeks a Technical Operations Director to lead the Wilmington site’s Technical Operations Department within the Site Leadership Team. This role shapes the strategic manufacturing roadmap for a hi-potent biologics facility, ensuring compliance, safety, and reliable supply to customers.

You will oversee process engineering, validation, technology transfer, and operational readiness across multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Technical, or related field.
• 12+ years industry leadership experience in biologics/manufacturing.
• Experience with facility startup, technology transfer and regulatory readiness.
• Strong communication, financial management and strategic planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site Technical Operations team and recruit, develop talent, and foster a high-performing culture.
• Develop annual operations financial plans and manage department budgets.
• Drive cGMP compliance, validation, and readiness for commercial and clinical operations.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Regulatory on NPI, filings, and launches.
• Oversee process validation, qualification, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
