Job summary

California State University, Fullerton is seeking a Biological Science Instructional Support Technician II to provide hands-on instructional support for molecular biology, genetics, and microbiology labs. You will maintain stocks and cultures, prepare media, and train teaching staff and student assistants to ensure safe, effective lab operations.

The role requires strong organizational skills, experience with lab equipment, and the ability to work with a diverse campus community.

Qualifications

• Three years or equivalent experience providing instructional support for a related unit or discipline.
• Completion of two years of college from an accredited college or university including sixteen semester units in related courses.
• Completion of four years of college from an accredited college or university including sixteen semester units in related courses.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support for molecular biology, genetics, general, and nursing microbiology laboratory courses.
• Maintain and subculture an extensive collection of microorganisms and cell cultures.
• Prepare and sterilize media and chemical solutions for laboratories.
• Train and supervise students and staff in laboratory safety and technique.
• Support faculty and graduate students in research activities and course development.
• Assist faculty with troubleshooting laboratory issues and updating manuals.
