Science and Technology Corporation (STC) is hiring a Bioinformatics Scientist II to apply multi-omics data analysis and develop data pipelines for MS-based experiments at our Aberdeen Proving Ground facility. The role emphasizes machine learning approaches and collaboration across disciplines.

The candidate will handle high-end MS data, implement QC/normalization strategies, and contribute to research that advances chemical and biological defense.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree with additional experience in a computational research lab environment will be considered.
• U.S. Citizenship required with ability to obtain DoD security clearance.
• 3 years of experience in a computational research lab environment.
• Strong coding experience in Python and R with ability to translate statistical results into actionable conclusions.
• Experience handling mass spectrometry-based data from high-resolution, triple quadrupole, and miniaturized platforms.

Aufgaben

• Analyze mass spectrometry data and interpret results; publish findings.
• Develop and run data analysis pipelines for proteomic, metabolomic, lipidomic, phosphoproteomic, and small molecule datasets using classical and machine learning approaches.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to test and refine analysis methods and communicate results.
• Develop dashboards or graphical user interfaces for data visualization and presentation of research products.
• Stay current on related literature and assist with reports, journal articles, and presentations.
