Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a Research Informatics professional to support basic, translational, and clinical research by enabling access to digital tools and computing resources. You will work with PhD-level scientists to build pipelines for single-cell RNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics data across mouse and human diseases, collaborating across pediatrics and BCH labs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or related preferred.
• At least one year of position-specific experience.
• Extensive knowledge of open-source bioinformatics software and HPC environments.
• Experience with R, Python, SQL, Git, scientific workflows and AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide computational support by applying a wide range of bioinformatics tools and technologies; with supervision, complete assignments on time per SOPs.
• Routinely co-lead or participate in research computing projects; set goals and coordinate with stakeholders for presentations/publications.
• Train staff and researchers; tailor presentations to audiences.
• Communicate scientific findings clearly through presentations, emails, memos, and publications; share progress at meetings.
