Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Research Informatics professional to build and optimize pipelines for analyzing single-cell RNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics data from mouse and human studies. You will work with PhD-level scientists and pediatric researchers in a high-performance computing environment, fostering collaborative use of bioinformatics tools.

The role emphasizes developing relationships, presenting findings, and training staff.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or related field preferred.
• Minimum of one year of position-specific experience.
• Extensive knowledge of open-source bioinformatics software and HPC environments.
• Proficient in R, Python, SQL, version control (Git) and scientific workflows.

Responsibilities

• Provide computational support by applying bioinformatics tools and best practices.
• Co-lead or participate in research computing projects and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Train staff and researchers and tailor presentations.
• Communicate scientific findings clearly in various formats and meetings.
