Job summary

Axle is a bioscience and information technology company partnering with NIH and other leading institutions to advance translational research and data science applications. The Bioinformatics Scientist will support HIV-related genomic and clinical data analyses, develop scalable pipelines, and contribute to publications.

The role requires strong programming, containerization, and pipeline framework skills, with an opportunity to work in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Masters/PhD preferred.
• 4+ years in bioinformatics; 2+ years building production pipelines.
• Expert-level in two of Python, R, C/C++, sh/bash.
• Experience with containerization: Docker/Podman/Singularity/Apptainer.
• Proficient with Snakemake, Nextflow, or CWL/WDL.

Responsibilities

• Provide bioinformatics, data analysis, and scientific computing support for HIV studies.
• Develop and maintain production pipelines for genomic and clinical data.
• Collaborate with investigators and laboratories to design experiments and analyses.
• Support publication planning and contribute to scientific papers.
