Axle is seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist to support HIV-focused research within NIAID DIR/IDSS. You will develop production pipelines, analyze genomic and clinical data, and contribute to scalable resources for investigators.

Based in the United States, this full-time role requires strong programming, HPC, and pipeline expertise; base compensation ranges from $105,000 to $130,000 annually, depending on credentials and location.

Qualifications

• Clearance: ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Scientific consultation: address bioinformatics and data analysis needs of DIR collaborators and design experiments.
• Bioinformatics support: variant calling, expression analysis, genome/transcriptome analysis, and high-throughput pipelines.
• Programming support: assist in dissemination of research data and tooling.
• Data analysis: perform computational analyses on genomic and clinical data and provide statistical support.
• Collaboration: work with staff on scientific programming and experimental design.
• Publication: contribute to peer-reviewed publications.
• Resource development: contribute to scalable NGS, computational biology, and ML data support.
