Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Boston seeks a Data Analyst 1 to join the Channing Division of Network Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. The role will manage and analyze large-scale genetic, genomic, and clinical datasets to study COPD and related phenotypes, integrating multi-omics data and applying statistical genetics and machine learning.

You will develop reproducible workflows using R and Python, perform QC and integration, and present findings at research meetings and in manuscripts.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, computational genomics, biomedical informatics, biostatistics, data science, or a related field.
• Proficiency with R and Python for data analysis.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments and large-scale datasets.
• Experience with data visualization, reproducible computational methods, and scientific writing.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a multidisciplinary research setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and analyze large-scale genetic, genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, imaging, and clinical datasets.
• Develop, implement, and maintain reproducible bioinformatics workflows using R, Python, Linux/Unix.
• Perform data preprocessing, quality control, harmonization, integration, statistical analysis, and visualization across data types.
• Apply statistical genetics, multi-omics, systems biology, and ML methods to COPD and pulmonary phenotypes.
• Generate publication-quality figures, tables, and visualizations for manuscripts and grants.
