Job description

Postdoctoral Position in Computational Biology and Network Medicine

Description: The Channing Division of Network Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to conduct research at the cutting edge of genomic medicine, computational biology, and network science. The candidate will analyze multi-omic data and develop statistical and network-based methods for integrative omics to advance our molecular understanding of childhood asthma as part of an NIH-sponsored project. The prospective fellow will be primarily mentored by Dr. Arda Halu (https://halu-lab.bwh.harvard.edu/ ) and work closely with clinicians, geneticists, genetic epidemiologists, and biostatisticians in a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative research ecosystem.

Qualifications: Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in a relevant quantitative field (e.g., computational biology, bioinformatics, genetics/genetic epidemiology, statistics, applied mathematics, physics). They should have strong programming skills in Python or R, and prior experience with handling large datasets and/or analyzing high-throughput genomic data. Additional experience with developing network methods and familiarity with statistical modeling, while not a requirement, is preferred. Strong communication skills and adherence to reproducible research standards are also essential.
