Job summary

The Channing Division of Network Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital is seeking a Data Analyst to support computational studies focused on chronic respiratory diseases, with emphasis on COPD and related pulmonary phenotypes.

You will manage large-scale omics and clinical data, develop reproducible workflows in R and Python, perform preprocessing and statistical analyses, and create publication-quality figures for manuscripts and grant applications.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field with experience analyzing large-scale datasets.
• Proficiency in R and Python for biomedical data analysis.
• Experience in Linux/Unix environments and handling high-dimensional data.
• Experience with bioinformatics workflows, statistical analysis, data visualization, and reproducible methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to write clear, well-documented, reproducible code.

Responsibilities

• Manage, process, and analyze large-scale genetic, genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, imaging, and clinical datasets.
• Develop, implement, and maintain reproducible bioinformatics workflows using R, Python, Linux/Unix, and related tools.
• Perform data preprocessing, quality control, harmonization, integration, and statistical analysis across cohorts.
• Use multi-omics and machine-learning approaches to investigate COPD and related phenotypes.
• Create publication-quality figures, tables, and visualizations for manuscripts and grant applications.
• Document datasets, methods, code, environments, and results clearly and reproducibly.
