Job summary

Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a Bioinformatician at the CHRC in NY to join a multidisciplinary team focused on multi-omics, lipidomics, and mass spectrometry-based spatial biology. You will help develop and apply advanced data analysis tools to understand neurological disease and critical illness.

The role requires collaboration with experts in bioinformatics, image analysis and computational biology, and a commitment to team-based science.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in bioinformatics, computer science, or systems biology.
• 2–3 years of experience; PhD can substitute for experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across disciplines.
• Ability to create a high-energy, results-oriented environment and work in a team.
• Ability to share and celebrate success with colleagues and staff.
• Proficiency in R, C++, Perl/Python, and shell scripting in Linux.
• Experience with machine learning, LLMs and AI approaches.
• Desirable: training in biostatistics, image analysis, ML and/or database management.
• Desirable: experience analyzing single-cell and bulk RNAseq, ATACseq and/or ChIPseq data.
• Desirable: experience with computational models for image analysis and multimodal integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply multiplex omics approaches and advanced data analysis tools.
• Collaborate with researchers in bioinformatics, image analysis and spatial multimodal data integration.
• Contribute to mechanistic understanding of neurological disease and critical illness and discovery of diagnostics/tools.
