Job summary

Yoh Life Sciences in Bristol, PA seeks a Lab Assistant contractor to support the bioconjugation team. You will assist analysts, maintain lab supplies, equipment, and materials to ensure timely testing.

The role is a 3-month contract located in Bristol, PA with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Pay ranges from $21–$24/hour DOE and requires a basic lab background and strong organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Familiarity with analytical, chemical, or biological lab environment.
• Ability to utilize email, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily checks and calibrations of equipment (e.g. balances, storage chambers).
• Prepare cleaning solutions for laboratory use and maintain areas of the lab and equipment.
• Perform routine cleaning following procedures for equipment such as biosafety cabinets and incubators.
• Restock laboratory supplies and chemicals; manage inventory and expiration dates.
• Orders and receives samples, lab chemicals, and consumables; maintain inventory accuracy.
• Prepares buffers and solutions used in the lab; clean glassware and instruments.
• Prepares and labels aliquots of samples and reagents.
• Records laboratory activities in logbooks following cGDP.
• Maintain lab equipment list and periodic inventory.
• Assist with lab-wide cleaning schedules and material disposal.
• Setup and transfer materials for shipping to clients and internal sites.
• Maintain 5S organization and perform additional duties.

Job description

Yoh Life Sciences is hiring for a Lab Assistant contractor to help support the bioconjugation team in Bristol, PA. The Lab Assistant provides support to analysts to ensure testing needs can be completed in a timely manner by maintaining lab supplies, equipment, and materials.

Position: Lab Assistant

Location: Bristol, PA

Duration: 3 months

Schedule: M-F 7:30 - 4:30pm

Pay: $21-24/hr DOE

Responsibilities

• Performs daily checks and calibrations of equipment (e.g. balances, storage chambers).
• Prepare cleaning solutions for laboratory use. Clean and maintain areas of the laboratory and equipment as needed.
• Perform routine cleaning following proper procedures for equipment such as biosafety cabinets, incubators, water baths, etc.
• Daily monitoring and restocking of laboratory supplies and chemicals; ensure proper cycling of supplies (first in first out) and monitor supply expiration dates.
• Orders and receives samples, lab chemicals, and consumable materials/supplies; maintains inventory of received materials and ensures accuracy of information entered.
• Prepares buffers and solutions used in the lab; cleans lab glassware and instruments used in reagent preparation.
• Prepares and labels aliquots of samples and reagents.
• Records laboratory activities in logbooks and lab notebook by following current good documentation practices (cGDP).
• Assists with maintenance of laboratory equipment list and perform periodic equipment inventory.
• Assists with periodic lab-wide cleaning schedule for refrigerators and freezer defrosts; assist with disposal of materials and organization of refrigerator/freezer shelves.
• Setup and transfer materials for shipping to external clients and across internal sites.
• Maintains laboratory 5S organization, perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, AA/AS or BA/BS in chemistry, biology, or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with analytical, chemical, or biological laboratory environment.
• Ability to utilize email, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Estimated Min Rate: $16.80

Estimated Max Rate: $24.00
