Job summary

ARUP Laboratories in Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking a Software Engineer II to contribute to software development projects, write code, support deployments, and maintain production features. The role participates in the full lifecycle, including testing, debugging, and deployment support, and requires independent work and team coordination.

Daily work follows a standard 40-hour week (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) within the Biocomputing department (331).

Qualifications

Experience with software development lifecycle including testing, debugging and deployment support.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and coordinate within a team.
Experience maintaining production features and resolving production issues end-to-end.

Responsibilities

Delivers and maintains production features that meet team quality standards.
Takes ownership of assigned features end-to-end, making day-to-day implementation decisions independently.
Applies design principles to decompose feature requests and build well-structured solutions.
Independently leverages AI tools to automate routine development work and learn new technologies.
Shapes planning and design discussions by evaluating technical tradeoffs and estimating feature complexity.
Maintains and troubleshoots CI/CD pipeline configurations for the team's applications.
Collaborates across the team to communicate concerns, document system behavior, and align on technical decisions.
