Job summary

The University at Buffalo in the Biochemistry Department seeks a Research Technician I to perform molecular biology and chromatin biology experiments, and to support undergraduate and graduate students. The position is available this Fall and will include NGS library construction and related lab duties.

The successful candidate must have experience with basic molecular biology and biochemistry techniques; experience with sequencing library prep, mammalian cell culture, protein synthesis, or

Qualifications

  • Requires education in Biological Sciences or related topic, and at least one year of experience directly related to molecular biology, chromatin biology and high-throughput sequencing library construction.
  • BS in Biological Science, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences or equivalent is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with next-generation sequencing library preparation and scripting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform experiments in molecular biology and chromatin biology.
  • Prepare high-throughput sequencing libraries and manage sample databases.
  • Order supplies and perform general lab maintenance.
  • Support undergraduate and graduate students in the lab.
