Job summary

Abbott Park, Illinois, is seeking a Senior Manager Specimen Bank to lead the internal biospecimen collection across U.S. sites, serving as Principal Investigator and expanding IRB-approved collections to include more sites and broader participant pools.

You will supervise site leads, ensure regulatory compliance, and align operations with strategic research objectives including product submissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences is required.
• Minimum 2 years of management experience.
• Minimum 10 years of biobanking, clinical research, or specimen management experience in IVD industry or clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Manages biobank teams; assists with hiring, coaching, training, and motivating personnel.
• Oversees Internal Specimen Collection Program adherence as Principal Investigator—ensuring compliance with regulations including informed consent.
• Oversees specimen procurement, receipt, processing and cataloguing of samples with IRB-compliance and data privacy.
• Oversees storage conditions, temperature control, equipment maintenance, and inventory management for biobanking.
• Identifies and collaborates with vendors and research partners in contract development and negotiation.
