Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a scientific researcher to support bioassay development for biological therapeutics in our federal program in Maryland. The role focuses on establishing, characterizing, optimizing, and validating cell-based and biochemical assays, including transcytosis and permeation studies.

The successful candidate will perform GLP-aligned laboratory work (qRT-PCR, ELISA, western blotting, IHC) and contribute to regulatory-ready reports, manuscripts, and project updates for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
• 3–6 years of experience developing, optimizing, validating, or implementing bioassays for proteins, biosimilars or complex generics.
• Experience with qRT-PCR, ELISA, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, or related analytical methods.
• Experience collecting, processing, analyzing, and documenting laboratory data per project plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific and laboratory research support to establish, characterize, optimize, and validate bioassays for biological therapeutics.
• Culture and maintain mammalian and immortalized cell lines using aseptic techniques.
• Develop and optimize cell-based transcytosis and permeation bioassays to evaluate transport of therapeutics.
• Validate bioassays for reproducibility, sensitivity, and specificity.
• Perform lab techniques including qRT-PCR, ELISA, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and related assays.
• Prepare technical reports, manuscripts, and status reports supporting regulatory decision-making.

Education

Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.

3–6 years of experience developing, optimizing, validating, or implementing bioassays for biologics, biosimilars, or complex generics.

Experience with qRT-PCR, ELISA, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, or related analytical methods.

Experience collecting, processing, analyzing, and documenting laboratory data per project plans.
