Job summary

Scripps Research in San Diego is seeking a Research Assistant II to support pharmacology efforts and develop LC-MS assays for drug discovery. You will work on multiple modalities including small molecules, peptides, proteins, and antibodies, and contribute to internal bioanalytical capabilities.

The role requires a bachelor’s in chemistry/biochemistry and 3–5 years of relevant experience, with hands-on LC-MS/MS expertise and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related field required.
• 3–5 years’ experience; master's with 2+ years acceptable.
• Experience in biochemistry/pharmacology; 1–3 years in a bioanalytical lab.

Responsibilities

• Prepare biological samples from tissues; support bioanalytical method development.
• Develop and optimize LC-MS methods for NMEs.
• Maintain LC-MS instrumentation and methods.
• Analyze data and document results.
• Manage lab databases and maintain records.
• Prepare bioanalytical reports for cross-functional teams.
• QC reviews of PK and ADME reports from CROs.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment.
