Job summary

Allied Printing Services Inc. is seeking an hands-on Assistant Bindery Supervisor in Manchester, CT. You’ll oversee daily bindery operations, coordinate staffing, review tickets, and ensure quality and safety across the production line.

This full-time role on the 3rd shift (12:00am–8:00am) offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $89,000 per year, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth within a long-standing family-run printing company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in commercial printing bindery or finishing operations preferred.
• Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret job tickets and production specs.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Clear communication and coaching abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily bindery operations, including cutting, folding, stitching, die cutting, gluing, and hand assembly.
• Coordinate job assignments and staffing based on production priorities, equipment availability, and employee skills.
• Review job tickets, specifications, schedules, and samples to ensure employees understand production requirements.
• Monitor work in progress, identify bottlenecks, and help adjust workflows to meet deadlines.
• Support equipment setup, troubleshooting, and production problem-solving alongside operators and maintenance.
• Verify quality throughout production, including counts, dimensions, folding, trimming, assembly, and overall finished appearance.
• Train and coach employees on equipment, work procedures, quality expectations, and safe practices.
• Reinforce safety rules, machine guarding requirements, housekeeping standards, and established operating procedures.
• Coordinate with other departments to support smooth job handoffs and timely completion.
• Assist with production records, waste tracking, and shift-to-shift communication.
• Provide department leadership in the supervisor's absence, as assigned
