Job summary

Nosco is seeking a Bindery Setup Operator for our Gurnee, IL facility on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule. You will set up and operate bindery equipment in accordance with internal and customer specifications, maintaining safety, precision and teamwork.

You will cross-train to run finishing assets, perform minor preventive maintenance, and ensure adherence to quality procedures to support on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of bindery experience or ability to operate finishing machinery.
  • Experience with basic quality systems and documentation.
  • Willing to work any shift and overtime.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and perform extended standing.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate bindery equipment per specifications.
  • Cross-train to run finishing assets in Bindery department.
  • Perform minor preventive maintenance and report defects to Manager/Team Lead; keep machinery in good condition.
  • Ensure quality system procedures are followed and maintain OTD for customer satisfaction.

Job description

Nosco is looking for a Bindery Setup Operator at our Gurnee, IL facility. This role is on our 12 hour rotating shift schedule.

As an employee owner in this position, you will set up and operate Bindery equipment in accordance with both internal and customer specifications, while working in a safe and efficient manner. This is a position that requires a critical eye for detail, precision, and consistency. All while working in a team-based environment.

In this role, you will…

  • Operate available equipment to ensure production objectives are met.
  • Cross train to be able to run all finishing assets in the Bindery department.
  • Perform minor preventive maintenance/repairs, report any mechanical defects to Manager and Team Lead, and keep machinery in good working condition.
  • Ensure quality system procedures are always followed.
  • Ensure department meets all needs for customer satisfaction including OTD.

Success factors…

  • Preferably 2+years of Bindery (literature folder gluer) or other technical skills operating machinery.
  • Experience with basic Quality systems and documentation.
  • Flexibility to work any shift and Overtime. Work in a fast-paced environment with ability to adapt to change.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Physical requirements: Twisting, turning, squeezing, grasping, reaching, reaching over equipment, kneeling, crawling, pulling, extended periods of standing, ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Long periods of concentration.
  • Speaking, hearing and vision are also essentials to performing job functions.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base offer will depend on a variety of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
