Staff Perm in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a skilled Bindery Operator specializing in post-press functions to join our contract team. You will operate bindery equipment and basic computer systems to complete job orders accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities include setting up equipment, monitoring production, checking shipments, labeling, and ensuring quality and adherence to postal and delivery standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the USA.
• Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience.
• Experience with printing processes and operations.
• Knowledge of Lean principles.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Experience operating powered hand trucks.
• Experience in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Set up bindery equipment and prepare materials for production.
• Monitor equipment and stock supplies to maintain continuous operation.
• Check incoming shipments, stamp and proofread customer orders, and generate labels.
• Operate bindery and post-press equipment to meet job specifications for accuracy, ink coverage, quantity, and labeling.
• Follow company policies and procedures to ensure smooth production flow.
• Use powered hand trucks for moving materials as needed.
• Inspect finished products to confirm they meet order specifications and properly manifest orders.
• Perform labeling, sorting, engraving special orders, loading trucks, and ensure compliance with postal and delivery standards.
