Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Bindery Operator role based in Raleigh, NC. The Bindery Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining bindery and finishing equipment such as folders, cutters, stitchers, and other post-press machinery to complete printed materials. Day-to-day tasks include setting up machines according to job specifications, monitoring production for accuracy and quality, and performing routine adjustments to ensure proper alignment, trimming, and binding. The role also involves reviewing work orders, working closely with press and prepress teams to meet deadlines, and following safety procedures and quality standards. The Bindery Operator will assist with packaging, labeling, and preparing finished products for shipment or delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience operating bindery and finishing equipment (e.g., folders, cutters, stitchers, collators) and performing basic machine setup and adjustments.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret job tickets, measure materials accurately, and verify finished work against specifications.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve minor equipment issues and perform routine maintenance.
• Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple jobs, prioritize tasks, and meet production deadlines.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move paper stock and finished products, and work safely in a production environment.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with press operators, supervisors, and other team members.
• Previous experience in commercial printing or manufacturing is preferred; vocational or technical training in print production is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; willingness to learn and follow company procedures and quality standards.
