Machine Operator, Bindery – Job Overview
We are looking for a machine operator to join our Bindery team in Duncan, South Carolina. In this role you will operate one or more of the following machines: Perfect Binder, Stitcher, Folder, Cutter and handle premium commercial print bindery work before packing and shipping to the client.
Shift Schedule: Rotating schedule of three 12-hour shifts (6 AM - 6 PM), alternating every 4 months between Monday-Wednesday and Thursday-Saturday.
Responsibilities
- Complete the job successfully and provide a quality product the customer will want to order again
- Run bindery equipment to produce premium commercial print
- Run existing bindery equipment and be open to learning how to run new equipment
- Troubleshoot production problems to ensure productivity and quality standards are met
- Perform Quality Control (QC) procedures to meet company standards
- Perform basic maintenance of the bindery machines
- Complete miscellaneous projects and various tasks as requested by management
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- A two-year Technical or Trade School diploma
- Three years’ experience as a bindery operator, cutter, folder or booklet maker
- Worked in a manufacturing environment for 2-5 years
- Worked in a fast-paced mid-size company
- The ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
