Job summary

Mackin Educational Resources is seeking a Bindery Machine Operator for our Topeka, KS production team. This full-time role involves operating cutting, folding, scoring, stitching and gluing equipment following established procedures to meet quality and production standards.

You will monitor equipment, perform basic maintenance, work with team members to prepare materials for orders, and uphold safety and cleanliness in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to use measurement tools (ruler/tape measure).
• Capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 15 lbs.

• Operate bindery equipment (cutting, folding, scoring, stitching, gluing) per procedures.
• Monitor equipment, perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Prepare materials and orders for production with a clean, safe work area.

Mackin Educational Resources is a well-established and highly respected company with an opportunity for a Bindery Machine Operator to join our Topeka, KS Bindery team.

If you are mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment, we’d like to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of bindery equipment, including cutting, folding, scoring, stitching, and gluing equipment, following established procedures to meet quality and production standards.
• Monitor equipment during operation, making routine adjustments and performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
• Work with team members to prepare materials and orders for production while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Ability to accurately use measurement tools such as a ruler or tape measure.
• Ability to concentrate on tasks for extended periods without distraction.
• Comfortable performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to bend and continuously lift 10–15 pounds.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift and continuously use fingers, hands, and arms in controlled movements.
• Previous bindery machine operator or manufacturing experience is a plus.

Hours

• Full-time - Days (7:00am - 3:30pm), Monday through Friday
• Weekends and Overtime as needed

Wages

• $17.00 per hour
