Job summary

AMS Industries, Inc. in Woodridge, IL seeks a VDC Technician to support BIM and VDC deliverables for mechanical contracting projects. You will coordinate models, assist design and field teams, and ensure accurate construction documentation.

Located at our Woodridge facility, you will collaborate with engineering, project management, and field staff, lead coordination meetings as needed, and help link BIM to Construction Administration through submittals and schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
• Up to 5 years of VDC experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
• Construction or trade experience is a plus.
• Experience in reality capture and point cloud processing is a plus.
• Strong communication skills.
• Able to work independently and be goal- and customer-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Prepare permit and design documents.
• Prepare shop drawings through coordination.
• Prepare as-built documents.
• Visit jobsites for coordination.
• Attend project coordination meetings.
• Collaborate with project management and field staff; ensure quality.
• Support design team with modeling and adherence to standards.
• Lead project coordination meetings.
• Distribute coordinated digital documents to the team.
• Link BIM to Construction Administration phase for submittals and schedules.
• Create Revit assemblies as needed.
• Support electronic file submissions.
