Job summary

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with installation or 3D modeling of mechanical or plumbing systems.

• Knowledge of BIM-related software is a plus.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret technical literature and plans.

Responsibilities

• Annotate shop drawings, hanger drawings, and sleeve drawings.
• Export hanger and sleeve coordinates for field layout.
• Communicate with field personnel to ensure clear communication on shop and spool drawings.
• Mentor and train Junior VDC Specialists.
• Provide on-the-job training on the creation of fabrication and installation drawings and documents.
• Collaborate with team members to complete drawings and models to meet project schedules.
• Maintain training and continued education for accuracy and productivity improvement.
• Provide input to management regarding hardware and software requirements.

As a BIM VDC Specialist, you will translate design intent contract documents or 3D design models of Plumbing, Mechanical, and HVAC systems into detailed Building Information Models using BIM fabrication modeling software. You will collaborate with engineers, managers, general contractors, and subcontractors to produce LOD400 BIMs and achieve spatial coordination of all trades. The role involves attending coordination meetings, generating RFIs, creating shop drawings, and communicating with field personnel to ensure clear fabrication and installation intent. You will also mentor and train Junior VDC Specialists, providing on-the-job training and maintaining continued education for accuracy and productivity improvement.

Essential Skills

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $70.00/hr.
