Job summary

Delta Construction Partners, a national executive search firm, is seeking a Senior VDC Manager to lead Virtual Design and Construction initiatives on data center projects. You will drive BIM coordination, implement VDC strategy, and mentor technical teams from design through facilities management.

The role requires strong BIM expertise, project leadership, and a willingness to travel to active construction sites while collaborating with multiple project teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years BIM/VDC experience in construction industry.
• Associate degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field; bachelor’s preferred.
• Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
• Strong experience with Navisworks Manage and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Trimble ProjectSight and/or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• MEP coordination experience preferred.
• Familiarity with SketchUp, Civil 3D, Solibri, Recap Pro, Tekla Structures, or Point Layout.
• BIM process and software training experience is a plus.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal/communication skills.
• Ability to travel and work on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement VDC strategy across the project lifecycle.
• Provide leadership for BIM implementation across multiple projects.
• Lead BIM coordination meetings and design/MEP coordination sessions.
• Maintain regular site engagement and monitor VDC progress.
• Create and manage 3D model coordinates, data standards, and 4D schedules.
• Federate 3D content and model missing components as needed.
• Integrate laser scan data with BIMs and manage project documentation.
• Mentor technical teams and share VDC best practices.

About the Role

Delta Construction Partners, a national executive search firm for premier electrical and general contractors, is seeking an experienced VDC Manager to lead Virtual Design and Construction initiatives on complex data center and mission-critical construction projects. You'll design and implement VDC strategy throughout the entire project lifecycle—from design through construction to facilities management—while leading BIM coordination efforts and driving construction technology innovation.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement VDC strategy throughout project lifecycle from design through construction to facilities management
• Provide leadership and guidance for BIM implementation across multiple projects
• Manage VDC project setup processes and coordinate implementation opportunities
• Lead BIM coordination meetings and design/MEP coordination sessions
• Maintain regular jobsite engagement and monitor VDC implementation progress
• Establish, document, and maintain 3D model coordinates and data standards
• Create 2D and 3D site logistics plans and phasing schedules
• Federate 3D content and model missing components as needed
• Integrate laser scan point cloud data with Building Information Models
• Create and maintain 4D schedules and construction simulations
• Review construction documents and apply findings to VDC processes
• Analyze models for errors and omissions, implementing corrections
• Train project personnel on VDC implementation and best practices
• Track and report VDC metrics and performance for assigned projects
• Facilitate collaboration among VDC teams and share lessons learned
• Lead strategic initiatives related to VDC and construction technology innovation
• Participate in industry speaking opportunities and focus groups
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and regulations
• Other duties as assigned in support of successful project completion

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in BIM or VDC-related roles, preferably in construction industry
• Associate degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Revit required
• Strong experience with Navisworks Manage and AutoCAD
• Experience with Trimble ProjectSight and/or Autodesk Construction Cloud
• Experience with MEP coordination strongly preferred
• Familiarity with additional BIM tools (SketchUp, Civil 3D, Solibri, Recap Pro, Tekla Structures, or Point Layout)
• BIM process and software training experience preferred
• Strong leadership and interpersonal/communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities
• Technically astute with strategic thinking abilitiesAbility to work independently, multi-task, and adapt in fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal guidance
• Willingness to work on active construction project sites
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to travel as needed
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
