Job summary

Aegistech is seeking a Digital Engineering Leader to manage VDC, Virtual Design & Construction, and Plan + Control across large, complex projects in New Haven, CT. You will drive coordinated outcomes among project teams, vendors, and stakeholders, delivering high-quality BIM-based solutions for MEP coordination and design-assist efforts.

The role requires 4+ years in VDC-related design/construction, strong communication, and hands-on model development across 3D–7D.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in an accredited industry-related curriculum.
  • Minimum 4+ years of VDC-related design and/or construction experience with progression of knowledge.
  • Proven success leading VDC on multiple large and complex projects.
  • Substantial understanding of construction techniques and systems.
  • Advanced capability in 3D parametric modeling and model coordination software (Revit etc.).
  • Mentoring/training experience; managing direct reports preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication; teaching/training/presentations.

  • Develop 3D, 4D, 5D, 6D, and 7D models for various project phases.
  • Ensure effective collaboration with 3rd party vendors.
  • Collect, track, and report data and KPIs; pursue continual improvement.
  • Create reports/presentations for senior management.
  • Provide training and software support to project teams.
  • Develop relationships with project teams.

Job description

The Digital Engineering Group promotes a holistic approach to design and construction model-based services and technologies. The group defines the company strategy around the use of BIMs, data integration across models and departments, and cultural change across project teams to realize significant risk reduction on construction cost and schedule.

This position is responsible for managing Digital Engineering, Virtual Design & Construction, and Plan + Control on multiple large and complex projects, with a heavy focus on MEP coordination and design-assist.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the successful delivery of Digital Engineering, Virtual Design & Construction, and Plan + Control on multiple large and complex projects simultaneously. Drive the coordination process hard, while understanding competing interests, creating a balanced outcome for all stakeholders.
  • Collaboratively support project teams on logistics planning, space planning, gap modeling, etc., all related to prioritization of critical path items. Present design-based solutions, inform procurement strategies, and manage coordination schedule durations, all related to the comprehensive coordination of the project.
  • Develop BIM Execution Plans and Digital Engineering strategies that achieve/exceed our clients’ goals.
  • Develop scopes of work, schedules, and budgets for Digital Engineering services for projects and pursuits.
  • Develop 3D, 4D, 5D, 6D, & 7D models to support pursuits, preconstruction, construction, and handover phases.
  • Ensure successful project team experiences with all approved 3rd party vendors.
  • Collect, track, and report project data and KPIs; implement processes for continual improvement.
  • Create reports and presentations on analytical findings for delivery to senior management.
  • Provide training and support of software and tools to project teams.
  • Proactively develop and maintain relationships with new and existing project teams.
Qualifications:
  • 4-year degree in an accredited industry-related curriculum.
  • Minimum 4+ years of VDC-related design and/or construction experience with demonstrated progression of technical knowledge and responsibilities.
  • Proven success leading VDC on multiple large and complex projects simultaneously. Experience with complex projects and different building types is required.
  • Substantial understanding of general construction techniques and systems. Ability to identify coordination issues, propose solutions, and drive teams towards solutions.
  • Advanced capability in 3D parametric modeling software and model coordination software. Ability to produce quantity takeoff extraction, clash detection, creation of custom Revit families, 4D simulations integrating construction schedule, and rendering high-quality images of models.
  • Proven capability with mentoring and training; experience managing direct reports preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication; skilled in teaching, training, and presentations.
