Job summary

W. M. Jordan Company is seeking a VDC Engineer to support its Virtual Construction Department. The role focuses on BIM coordination across 2-3 projects, collaboration with design teams, and driving preconstruction through construction phases.

The ideal candidate will manage clash detection, review submittals, and develop Revit content while traveling to project sites and training staff in BIM practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction-related major, or 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• 3+ years with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Civil 3D.
• Experience with VDC software such as Lumion, 3D Max, Enscape, Synchro, Bluebeam.
• Experience in project scheduling and scheduling software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to problem solve independently and work with urgency.

Responsibilities

• Manage BIM coordination for a minimum of 2-3 projects simultaneously.
• Lead BIM coordination meetings between all project stakeholders.
• Conduct clash detection and avoidance using Navisworks and assign tasks.
• Interpret contract documents and review RFIs, submittals and shop drawings.
• Create content in Revit to facilitate BIM coordination.
• Document BIM events for process improvement and marketing of the VDC portfolio.
• Travel to project sites as required.
• Train staff on BIM usage during construction.
