Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking a BIM/VDC Engineer for projects in Orlando or Plantation, FL. The role drives BIM strategies, develops models, and supports proposals with advanced visualization and coordination among design teams, clients, and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate brings a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and at least two years’ experience in design/construction. Travel to sites is required; in-person collaboration is essential to project success.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum of two years’ experience in design, construction, or consulting; operations experience preferred.
Strong understanding of design/construction processes, tools, and project management systems.
Knowledge of construction technology platforms, workflows, and venture to stay current.
Willingness to travel to other offices and project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

Lead BIM implementation and develop BIM execution plans.
Develop models and marketing/content for proposals.
Coordinate with designers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure model accuracy.
Manage project file sharing and clash detection processes.
Capture facility turnover knowledge for operations and maintenance.
Maintain BIM knowledge database and share lessons learned.
Pilot new technologies (drones, VR/AR, laser scanning) and integrate them into workflows.
Understand contract types and how they affect bid, design, and coordination.
